Every year on 20th October, the people in Vietnam celebrate “Ngày phụ nữ Việt Nam” – the Vietnamese Women’s Day. This celebration is to honour the women in all fields, affirming the role, position and importance of Vietnamese women who are intelligent, healthy, dynamic, creative. They also possessa cultural lifestyle, are kind and care about the interests of society and the community. To celebrate this occasion, all women will receive gifts, cards and best wishes from their family members, friends or colleagues.

On 18 October 2024, our children at Kinderland International Preschool @ Vietnam joined their teachers to create handmade cards that were meticulously decorated with warm wishes for their mothers and grandmothers. Lovely phrases like “I love you, Mom”, “I love you, Grandma” were written on the cards, containing all the respect and love the little ones have for the women in their families.

Using a straw to print the lovely flowers and hoping my mummy will love these flowers.

Watch me as I print the lovely flowers on the paper.

The children presented these handmade cards to their mothers when they were picked up by their mothers and grandmothers at the end of the day. The mothers were delighted to see these handcrafted cards made by their child. The many happy smiles on the mother’s faces also brought about many happy smiles on the children’s faces. On this note, we would like to wish all our mothers and grandmothers, a “Happy Women’s Day” and that each and every day be filled with joy, happiness and strength.

The children cannot wait to see their mothers and to show them the card they had made in class.

The mother was so happy to receive the card.

The mummy listened as her child explained why he did the card for her.

Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents for celebrating Vietnamese Women’s Day with us by presenting bouquets of flowers, congratulation wishes and treats to all our teachers and staff. This kind gestures and appreciation further reaffirmed the importance of the teachers’ roles in the lives of the children.

A box of cupcake was given to every teacher to celebrate Vietnamese Women’s Day.
