On May 31, Kinderland International Preschool @ Vista Verde was abuzz with excitement and joy as we celebrated Children’s Day with the vibrant theme “Children Around the World.” This special day was dedicated to honour the diversity and unity of children from various cultures, fostering an appreciation for global traditions and customs among our young learners.
The celebration began as they stepped into the school where children proudly wore colourful costumes representing different countries. In the morning, children were in the storytelling session, where teachers narrated the story “We are all different and we are friends”. This story was not only fun but also imparted valuable lessons about kindness, and friendship. Our toddlers were having fun with the theme related to Africa.??? Can remove this sentence?
No celebration of global cultures would be complete without sampling international cuisine. Our “Tasting the World” buffet lunch allowed the children to try a variety of food from different countries – from Italian spaghetti to Korean rice balls. The young ones were delighted in discovering new flavours and texture. This culinary adventure not only tickled their taste buds but also sparked conversations about the diversity of food around the world.
Through collaborative games and activities, the children learned the importance of understanding, embracing and respecting differences. By the end of the day, new friendships had blossomed, and the children gained a deeper appreciation for the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our world.
It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and harmony, embodying the spirit of unity and diversity. We are proud of our children for their enthusiastic participation and open-mindedness.
As we reflect on this joyous day, we are reminded of the importance of nurturing a sense of global awareness and empathy in our children. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate the beautiful diversity of our world and to continue fostering a community of kindness and understanding.
