Children love Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, primarily because it is a time when family members get together, receive auspicious money in red envelopes (“li xi”), and enjoy delicious festive food. Tết, short for Tết Nguyên Đán, is the most important celebration in Vietnamese culture.

At Kinderland International Preschool @Vista Verde, the children, parents and teachers were very excited to celebrate Tet together.  Classes decorated the school compound with handmade items to raise funds for Thu Duc Youth Village, a charity for orphans and children in difficult circumstances. This charity fundraising activity is also an annual activity of Kinderland International Preschools in Vietnam.

Children made auspicious envelopes to showcase their creativity.

On 24 January 2025, the children celebrated the Tet festival by performing songs to the theme of spring. The various classes spent more than a month practicing their performances with the enthusiastic guidance of their teachers.

The celebration included family bonding games for parents and children to participate in the campus. Folk games such as drawing activities, Animal Bingo, Ring Toss, Throw Me A Ball, Beating the Drums and food stalls were set up to engage the parents and children. Through the activities, the families spent meaningful time together to understand the traditions of the Tet holiday.
