The first year of a child’s life is full of amazing discoveries. At around 12 months old, little ones become more curious, active, and eager to explore the world around them. This stage is a wonderful time to introduce them to a nurturing early learning environment where they can grow, play, and learn in meaningful ways.

At Kinderland, our Toddler and HappyTot Programmes are thoughtfully designed for young children to learn through joyful experiences. Instead of formal lessons, children engage in songs, storytelling, sensory play, and hands-on activities that naturally build early language and thinking skills. As they play, they begin recognising colours and shapes, experimenting with sounds, and developing their first communication abilities.

Children develop their sensory skills by exploring and engaging with a variety of toys and books.

Physical development is also encouraged through daily movement and play. Whether stacking blocks, exploring toys, crawling, or taking confident little steps, children strengthen both their fine and gross motor skills while gaining confidence in their abilities.

The child participated in a physical session to improve balance and walk in a straight line.

Just as important are the social experiences children gain. In a warm and caring group setting, little ones gradually learn to share, take turns, and interact with others. These early interactions help them build friendships and develop emotional confidence in a supportive environment.

Children learn through dramatic play and interact with one another, developing their social and emotional skills.

Starting school at around 12 months can also help children adapt smoothly to routines and new experiences. Gentle daily rhythms—such as playtime, meals, and rest—create a sense of comfort and security. Along the way, simple achievements like feeding themselves or tidying toys encourage independence and a growing sense of “I can do it!”

The child feeds himself independently during lunchtime at school, developing his self-help skills.

At Kinderland, we understand how important it is for parents to feel reassured. Our classrooms are carefully designed for young children, with strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and hygiene. Most importantly, our experienced teachers and caring nannies provide attentive guidance so every child feels safe, loved, and supported.

Teachers warmly interact with a new child and his mother in the HappyTots class, where parents accompanied their children in learning together.

Because when children begin their learning journey in a nurturing environment, even the smallest steps can lead to wonderful growth.
