With the fourth wave of rising Covid-19 cases in the community, Ho Chi Minh City underwent another school closure in May 2021. Kinderland International Preschool @ Vietnam was coherent to authorities’ advice to close our preschool for the well-being of our teachers and children in school.
Although moods were dampened across the city, Kinderland defies the odds and continues to bring learning into the homes of our students. We pulled strength and resources to ensure seamless learning continues despite the constant disruption of the centre’s operations within the past year. Kinderland is insistent that only through continuous education in their crucial early years will our children hone their fullest potential. As such, Kinderland rolled out Home-Based Learning (HBL) for our inquisitive young minds through digital platforms.
Before executing the HBL, our teachers were guided by Singapore’s Curriculum professionals on their teaching materials and resources. The sharing helped our teachers deliver the HBL lessons smoothly. Backed by the strong support from Kinderland’s headquarters, the Vietnam team managed to execute HBL immediately upon school closure and continue to do so as long as schools remain closed.
Nevertheless, teachers have consistently given their 100% commitment and always found new ways to engage the children virtually. Their goal was to sustain children’s learning interest as they continue to enrich and empower these young minds. From online cookery classes to physical movement activities, our teachers did it all.
With the rest of the nation, Kinderland International Preschool @ Vietnam hopes that the situation will improve for schools to reopen. We long to meet our children in person again. In the meanwhile, we hope everyone will stay safe and keep the learning going!
